Does my new Travel Buggy electric wheelchair come ready to go?

Yes! All models come fully preassembled. Simply attach the joystick (left or right arm rest), insert the battery and it is ready to go.

How do you fold and unfold a Travel Buggy?

It's super easy to fold and unfold a Travel Buggy! Depending on the model, it will fold differently.

The CITY 2 PLUS and DASH is front-folding, just like a lawn chair. Simply release the locking mechanism and compress to a folded position.

The AEROLUX is cross-folding, meaning it folds side to side, like an accordion. Just pull up on the seat, and the frame collapses inward.

Are Travel Buggy electric wheelchairs comfortable for taller or heavier users?

Our CITY 2 PLUS is adjustable to fit taller and heavier users more comfortably. It features an adjustable footplate to increase the standard length up to 5", as well as an extendable joystick. It also has our largest seating area which can be adjusted up to 23" in width and is rated to carry up to 395 lbs.

What type of battery do Travel Buggy electric wheelchairs use?

Our foldable power chairs use the latest in Lithium-ion Polymer (LiPO4) battery technology. They are significantly more efficient in power to weight output compared to traditional acid and traditional lithium-ion batteries. This means we can make them smaller and lighter than other power wheelchair batteries. Our batteries weigh about 3.5 lbs each. Lithium batteries also produce a longer range than standard acid batteries and last significantly longer (up to 1000+ charge cycles). Expect the life to be over 5 years depending on usage.

How long will the battery life last?

It varies depending on the terrain and user weight, but it typically lasts 6 to 8 hours of driving time. The charge will hold very well while not in use, draining only about 5% of the power per month compared to 30% with traditional batteries. The battery itself is a high-quality lithium-ion (LifePO4) battery, capable of being charged 1,000+ times in its lifetime.

How long does is take the battery to charge?

Charging time depends on the battery and model, but our larger batteries typically take about 5 to 7 hours to fully charge.

What manufacturing standards do Travel Buggy's models comply with?

Our products are manufactured under the international standards of CE, FDA, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485. These standards are fully acceptable within the United States.

Can my Travel Buggy electric wheelchair fit in a vehicle?

Yes, once folded into their compact form, all models can easily fit into most vehicle trunks.

Can I travel on an airplane with my Travel Buggy electric wheelchair?

Yes, our foldable electric wheelchairs are under the approved category for airplane travel. Various airlines and countries may have different regulations on bringing an electric wheelchair onto an airplane, so please refer to the individual airline's policies for more details.

Can I use my Travel Buggy overseas where the voltage is different?

The charger for our electric wheelchairs operates on AC 100–240V, 50–60Hz, making it compatible in most countries. In some cases, you may just need a plug adapter to fit the local outlet.

What form of payments are accepted?

We securely accept PayPal transfers and most major credit cards through our online checkout.

Will I be able to purchase a Travel Buggy with my insurance plan?

With your purchase of a Travel Buggy electric wheelchair, you will receive the chair (including seat and backrests), one or two batteries depending on the model, a battery charger, a joystick, a tool kit, and an operating manual.

We ship anywhere in the contiguous United States. For shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or other international destinations, please contact us for accurate shipping rates.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer free shipping on orders over $100, and a flat $15 shipping fee for orders under $100. There are no hidden charges or handling fees, what you see is what you pay.

How do I confirm and track my order?

After purchasing your Travel Buggy, you'll receive an email receipt with your order number for reference. Once your order has shipped, you'll get a follow-up email with your tracking information.

With our free expedited shipping, most orders will arrive in 7 to 10 business days, depending on your location.

Can I change my shipping address after placing my order?

Travel Buggy offers a 30-day return window. A 15% restocking fee applies, which covers return shipping.

What kind of maintenance do I need to perform and how often?

Our Travel Buggy electric wheelchairs require very little maintenance, but regular upkeep is important to ensure their long-term performance.

We recommend visually inspecting your wheelchair monthly and keeping it clean. Additionally, using the provided tools, tighten the nuts and bolts at least four times a year, depending on usage.

If you notice any changes in operation or if the joystick signals an error (as described in your operating manual), please consult a trained technicians.

Where do I go for service and maintenance?

We work with third-party mobility scooter and power wheelchair technicians across the United States.

These companies have trained technicians experienced in servicing power wheelchairs. Be sure to bring your operating manual with you for the technician to review.

Simply contact us if you would like to arrange a service or have the chair looked at. Many of our technicians are able to meet you in your own home.

Note: Labor charges will not be covered under warranty.
